It reads, "That this Board of Aldermen approve a Nuisance Control Ordinance to protect the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants of the City of Somerville. This ordinance should permit the City to impose liability on property owners and other responsible persons for the nuisances and harm caused by loud and/or unruly gatherings on private property and shall prohibit the consumption of alcoholic beverages by underage persons at such gatherings." Powder House School
Meetings continue as neighbors and city officials discuss the future of this building. A development that best serves both the community and the city is needed at this site! Proposals should be made to the community, so their input and ideas are included.North Street Veterans Playground
The renovation of the North Street Veterans Playground has been an ongoing, community-involved project for the past couple of years. Many great ideas have been offered and the city is looking forward to making this park available for all residents to use! Currently, there are two schemes that the community is considering for this space and meetings will continue until we decide, as a whole, what is best for the North Street Veterans Playgrond.
Green Line Extension
In the summer of 2011, Somerville was told that the Green Line Extension would not be available for passenger use until between 2018 and 2020. Legislative item #191806 was filed, demanding that the MA Secretary of Transportation, or his designee, and a representative of the Conservation Law Foundation, appear before this Board to discuss revised timelines for the construction of the Green Line Extension into Somerville. The Green Line Extension is needed for the economic success of Somerville and should not be delayed any further! This item will be taken up the Committee on Housing and Community Development and all interested citizens should attend! Please see Somerville's Meeting Portal for information.
